Key Account Manager
The position is responsible to the Sales Director for the commercial performance of, and relationship with, identified key accounts. The key responsibilities include:
• Managing the relationship with existing customers to provide clear visibility, and delivery, of current year commercial targets.
• . Working with the customers and the Sales Director to build robust, multi-year account plans to revenue growth and account loyalty
• Working with the Gill processes and systems (including CRM) to ensure effective communication of customer information across the Gill group.
• Providing sales and product information and training to the customer to maximise their use, or sales, of Gill products.
Working with the Gill commercial team to identify and develop opportunities, including providing market and competitor insight, acquiring new customers and supporting the transition of accounts within the Gill team.
Working with the Gill commercial team to identify and implement opportunities to improve customer satisfaction and commercial results.
Attending industry events to build on existing customer relationships, support the acquisition of new accounts, and to gain insight into relevant markets.
Demonstrable previous experience of managing and growing key accounts.
Experience of acquiring and developing new commercially valuable, long term customer accounts.
Experience of using CRM systems to manage and communicate account activity.
Excellent communication, presentation, analytical and problem solving skills.
Clean driving license and willingness to travel.
Additional Advantageous Experience:
Experience of managing technically knowledgeable accounts.
Experience of managing a range of European or global accounts.
Experience of working in a medium sized, privately owned business.

Gill Sensors & Controls Limited is an ambitious and growing privately owned manufacturer of specialist sensors. Gill products are used in demanding and advanced technology industries around the world, including construction, motorsport, marine, aeronautical, defence, and material handling.
The company sells its products directly to specialist vehicle manufacturers, system integrators, and targeted distributors around the world. As part of the current growth plan an opportunity exists for an experienced key account manager to join the company to develop selected new and existing accounts.

Over recent years the business has developed a wide range of products around a number of core product areas. To continue and accelerate its success the business wishes to review the product range and gain agreement to a medium term road map. It is anticipated that this may lead to a clearer product focus, the consolidation of the product lines and/or migration to product platforms to ensure continued high quality performance and efficient development.
In addition the business has decided to increase the focus on product management and to adopt a more structured approach to product development and in life management.
The Product Manager will be part of the management team responsible for the delivering the annual company development and financial plan. The Product Manager will be responsible for working to review and consolidate the product information held within the business and develop a medium term product strategy and short term development plan.
In addition, the Product Manager will be responsible for introducing core Product Management principles and processes into the business, as agreed.
Review and understand the current product ranges, their functionality, performance and market position
Produce and agree a medium term road map and short term development plan
Prepare and gain agreement to appropriate business cases and development requirement specifications
Manage the introduction of agreed developments into the product range
Actively manage the in-life performance of existing products, including sales and marketing support, reviewing product technical and commercial performance, and production support.
Introduce formal product management at a level that is appropriate for the business and product range, and continually review the need for additional structure as the business grows and processes become embedded
A proven background in product management in an electronics/technology business
Experience of collecting and making sense of diversely held product information
Experience of developing and gaining agreement to a product roadmap that balances short and medium terms demands, and addresses the diverse opportunities presented by the market, the development team and technology
Experience of preparing requirement specifications and business cases
Experience of working in a small or fast growing business
A relevant degree or equivalent
